چکیده
D. Novoselović, I. Budić, I. Samardžić, Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod, University of Osijek, Croatia The influence of technological parameters on residual stresses in pressure die castings is analysed in this paper. In order for the residual stresses to be as low as possible the optimization of technological parameters is necessary. The centrally composed plan of experiment 24cs is used in the investigation. Technologically influencing parameters are changed according to the mentioned plan of experiment and they are: temperature of pouring, rate of die cavity filling with the melt, post pressure in already filled die and the casting cooling time along with the pouring system.

Modern High Pressure Die-casting Processes for Aluminium Castings
There are about 33 processes commercially available for the production of aluminium castings. About 70% of the castings are produced using conventional high-pressure die-casting process. It’s main drawbacks are 1) Air and gas blow holes 2) Unable to weld 3) unable to heat treat to enhance mechanical properties. To overcome these, many modern processes have been invented. A few of them are 1) Hi...
متن کاملMarginal Accuracy of Castings Fabricated with Ringless Casting Investment System and Metal Ring Casting Investment System: A Comparative Study.
BACKGROUND The thermal expansion of the investment can be restricted by the metal casting ring because the thermal expansion of the ring is less than that of the investment. The ringless casting procedure is in use in clinical dentistry, though there is little scientific data to support its use in fixed partial dentures. In this study, marginal discrepancy of castings produced with the ringless...

متن کاملNumerical Simulation and Experimental Validation of Residual Stresses in Water-Quenched Aluminum Alloy Castings
Aluminum alloy castings are normally water quenched after solution treatment to improve mechanical properties. Rapid water quenching can result in high-residual stress and severe distortion which significantly affect functionality and performance of the products. To optimize product design and durability, one needs to model and predict residual stress and distortion produced in the water-quench...
متن کاملModeling of Stress, Distortion, and Hot Tearing
COMPUTATIONALMODELING of mechanical behavior during solidification is becoming more important. Thermal and microstructural simulations alone are insufficient to predict the quality of the final product that is desired by the casting industry. Accurate calculation of displacements, strains, and stresses during the casting process is needed to predict residual stress and distortion and defects su...
